Stop by the corner of Fairmount Road and Route 138 to see how the Pocket Park is progressing. We had six John Jay High School senior interns who worked at the site for five weeks. They removed invasive plants, cleaned up the seating area, and built benches, a dog hitch, and a bike rack! Check out their work on our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/goldensbridgehamletorg/.
We need you help! There is still lots to do! Our EVENTS page lists the upcoming park work dates. We have created a go fund me to help with expenses – mostly cleaning up the pond and buying benches & tables. Thanks to everyone who has already contributed: https://www.gofundme.com/f/GBHO-Fairmount-Corner-Pocket-Park.
When the park is done, it will have a walking trail, benches & tables, a beautiful healthy pond, a pollinator garden, and lots of native plants and animals to enjoy. Come help create this neighborhood park.
