Master Plan

Goldens Bridge Hamlet Master Plan

Our organization is focused on preserving the historic nature of our Goldens Bridge Hamlet. Our goal is to ensure future projects comply with the vision we all share for our community. We welcome all Goldens Bridge residents to voice their concerns and share in the projects aimed at completing our mission. Two very important projects, I684 corridor and the multi-family special zoning are detailed for your perusal and comments. We hope to hear from you.

Update on Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Planning Committee along with the firm Nelson, Pope, Voorhis are concluding the public portion of the rewrite of the Town’s comprehensive master plan.  Updates are a cyclical municipal process; Lewisboro’s was last updated in 1985.  Community input was given at publicly held events over the year.  Videos of the Comprehensive Planning Committee’s meetings are available on Youtube and were livestreamed as they took place.  Drafts are available to view at: https://www.lewisborogov.com/cmpsc/page/draft-documents-past-public-workshops .  The drafts will be reviewed at the town level for final approval.  Once final approval is met our town will have a new comprehensive plan.

As you are aware a comprehensive master plan focuses on land use and zoning.  A town cannot mandate businesses, residences, or infrastructure be built or barred.  It is a framework to guide the various boards of what is permissible on which parcels.  Should a need arise, a municipality will engage in the process of attaching an addendum to an approved comprehensive plan to address a specific issue.  Lewisboro did this within the past eight years with the Cycling and Pedestrian addendum.
